The two-door four-passenger 2015Volkswagen Beetle comes standard with leatherette upholstery, heated front
seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an eight-speaker stereo system
with Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, iPod integration, and the VW
brand’s Car-Net telematics system with a touchscreen display. Optional features
include a panoramic sunroof, push-button start, satellite radio, a rearview
camera, navigation, and an upgraded eight-speaker Fender audio system.
The powertrain is dependent upon the trim level. Base models
come powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates
170 horsepower and 184 pound-foot of torque. It comes paired to a five-speed
manual transmission, while a six-speed automatic is an option. R-Line models
come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates
210 horsepower and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed
automatic (automated manual) transmission is optional. For the 2015 model year,
the TDI comes powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that generates
150 horsepower and 236 pound-foot of torque. The EPA estimates that it will average a whopping 31/41 mpg,
city and highway, with both transmission options (the six-speed manual and the
six-speed automated manual)!
