The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety only awards the
Top Safety Pick+ designation to the safest and most sound vehicles on the
market. In order to earn it, a vehicle must earn the IIHS’s top score of Good
in the moderate overlap front, side impact, rear crash performance, and roof
strength tests as well as the second highest rating of Acceptable in the very
tough small overall front crash tests and a score of Basic in frontal crash
prevention systems. When equipped with the VW brand’s Forward Collision Warning
system, the 2015VW Jetta earned all those ratings. Mark McNabb, Chief Operating Officer,
VWoA, had this to say:
"The redesigned 2015 Volkswagen Jetta not only brings a sleek
new design, but also offers customers state-of-the-art technology, creating the
ideal combination of Volkswagen design, performance, and world-class
engineering. To have IIHS recognize the vehicle as a Top Safety Pick+ confirms
that our commitment to safety and engineering pays off in delivering a standout
compact vehicle."
