For the 2015 model year, the 2015
VW Jetta receives a series of upgrades and refreshes. The most obvious and
apparent change is the new front-end, and a rear-end which is a nipped-and-tucked
version of the previous model year. It gains a spoiler as well. Drivers can also opt
for optional bi-xenon headlights that gain an LED signature.
Moving under the hood, drivers will be pleased to find out
that Volkswagen has replaced the old 2.5-liter five-cylinder with a 1.8-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will surprise drivers with both its
power and its efficiency. The line also still has the optional 2.0-liter
turbodiesel that generates 10 more horsepower than its predecessor and should
average an EPA-estimated 45 mpg on the highway, which is also an improvement.
The interior will also offer a refreshed look with ambient lighting options and chrome-ringed gauges and HVAC bezels. A higher-quality seat fabric will also be available. It offers all the latest in interior and safety technologies including a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, a frontal-collision warning system, and park-distance control. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded it a perfect 5-Star Overall Rating as well as perfect five-star ratings in side crash tests. It earned four-star ratings in front crash test and rollover crash tests.
