VW Keeping Busy for 2015 Model Year!

The 2015 model year is going to be a big one for Volkswagen! Several models, including the Volkswagen brand’s signature sedan, the 2015VW Jetta, are redesigned to offer better fuel economy, better value, and more features. Re-designed models include the 2015 VW Golf, the 2015 VW Jetta, and the 2015 Golf GTI. There's also an all-new TDI Clean Diesel Engine option that will be offered in at least five new vehicle models. In addition to all that excitement, 2014 marks the year Volkswagen will introduce its first fully electric vehicle to the U.S. market, in the form of the 2015 VW e-Golf.

The 2015 VW Jetta is redesigned with new stylings and driver assistance systems in addition to its increased fuel efficiency. New systems include blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, forward collision warning, and park distance control. The Jetta 1.8T models offer the EA288 diesel engine, which, when paired to the manual transmission, should improve fuel efficiency by 4 mpg over previous generations. This year marks the seventh-generation of the Golf and the Golf GTI models, both of which are bigger, more fuel-efficient, and better stocked that ever before. The 2015 VW Golf comes in two forms: one that focuses on power and one that focuses on efficiency. The 2015 VW GTI comes standard with 2.0-liter TSI engine, with an option to get more power with a 220 horsepower version available. When equipped with the optional Driver Assistance Package, both models have been named Top Safety Pick+ designations by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Volkswagen Group of America Helps Clean Up National Mall!

Last weekend after the July Fourth celebrations, Volkswagen Group of America, (VWGoA), Inc. volunteered more than 250 hours of service to help clean up the National Mall in Washington D.C. after the Fourth of July fireworks and celebration activities. VWGoA also provided a 2014 VW Touareg Hybrid to support the Trust for the National Mall in its ongoing clean-up and volunteer activities done in order to keep our National Mall the beautiful sight that it is today! The 2014 VW Touareg Hybrid was wrapped with the Trust for the National Mall’s logo and is intended to be used by the volunteer organization to raise awareness for its mission to provide hands in support for the continued restoration and the upkeep of the most iconic strip’s of America’s real estate. 2014 VW Passat Combines Comfort, Safety, and Style!

The 2014 Volkswagen Passat delivers an excellent and enjoyable driving experience as well as loads of cargo space and a comfortable, spacious, and well-stocked interior. It also offers great fuel economy and top safety scores. Keep reading to learn more about this amazing midsize sedan!

The four-door 2014 VW Passat seats five and is offered in four trim levels as well as four different powertrain options and four different transmissions. Trim levels are the base S, Wolfsburg Edition, SE, and SEL. The base 2.5-liter engine is in the process of being phased out and replaced (during the 2014 model year) with a 170 horsepower turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission (a six-speed automatic is optional). Drivers can also choose a 140 horsepower 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that will average an EPA-estimated 30/40 mpg with the DSG automated manual transmission or 31/43 mpg with the six-speed manual transmission. The most powerful engine option is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower, comes paired to the six-speed DSG transmission, and should average an EPA-estimated 20/28 mpg, city and highway.

The base trim offers cloth seats, while moving up trim levels provides more options such as leatherette seats, leather trimmed seats with faux suede inserts, heated front seats, and power-adjustable front seats. Both the front and back seat offer plenty of legroom and comfort. Standard interior features include Bluetooth, an auxiliary audio input, and automatic headlights. Depending on what trim level or optional features you choose, it can be stocked with the VW brand’s Car-Net connected telematics entertainment and safety services, a rearview camera, navigation with a touch-screen display, HD Radio, satellite radio, a sunroof, remote start, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control to name just a few options. Safety scores include a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a perfect 5-Star Overall Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
